Star Fleet offers a Buyback Program for members of Star Fleet Corporations, making it easier to sell items without dealing with hauling, shipping risks, or market headaches. Instead of moving goods around and fighting for sell orders, members can contract eligible items directly to the corporation through the buyback system.
The program is designed around convenience. It gives members a simple way to turn items into ISK while avoiding the usual market drama. If you have questions about the program, Denis Leary is the contact person and can be reached through in-game mail.
How pricing works
The Star Fleet Buyback Program purchases items at 90% of Jita Buy Price, based on the approved appraisal tool, Goonpraisal. At this time, no other appraisal tools are accepted unless specifically announced otherwise. Contracts that use a different appraisal site, or contracts that do not show the value set to 90% of Jita Buy Price, will be automatically rejected.
From time to time, the corporation may also announce special “Hits,” where certain requested items are bought at a different rate. These special rates will be shared through Discord and in-game mail, so members should keep an eye out for those announcements.
Contract value limit
Because of the number of contracts being submitted, the program now has a maximum contract value in place. This helps keep the process manageable and prevents a small number of very large contracts from slowing everything down.
The current buyback contract maximum is 1,000,000,000 ISK, or 1 billion ISK, per contract.
Restricted items
Not everything can be submitted through the buyback program. Contracts that include restricted items will be automatically rejected. The current restricted items include:
• Blueprint Copies (BPCs)
• SKINs
• Rigged ships
• Items inside containers
• Damaged consumable items such as lenses and mining crystals
Unrigged packaged ships are allowed. Loot boxes are also not considered containers. In some cases, individual drop-off locations may have additional restrictions on top of the standard list.
Approved drop-off locations
Buyback contracts must be submitted from an approved drop-off location.
In Lonetrek – High Sec (North), contracts can be dropped off in Oipo (Hub) at Absolute Ascension A. All standard restrictions apply.
In Devoid – High Sec (South), approved stations include:
• Dihra V – 24th Imperial Crusade Logistic Support
• South Bunker B- in Dital
• Orion’s Absolute Refinery
All normal restrictions apply in these systems as well.
In Providence – Null Sec (South), approved drop-off locations include:
• KBP7-G – Heir of Athra
Members should also check for any location-specific additional restrictions in Providence before submitting contracts.
How to create a buyback contract
The first step is to configure your appraisal tool settings. Open Goonpraisal, go into the settings, and make sure the appraisal is set to Jita with the value showing 90%. Once saved, you usually only need to do this once unless you regularly change your settings for other purposes.
Next, go into the game and copy the items you want to sell by highlighting them and pressing Ctrl + C. Paste those items into the appraisal tool using Ctrl + V. Then submit the appraisal and make sure the result still shows Jita and 90% before continuing.
After that, click the Permalink button in the appraisal tool and copy the generated link. You will need this when creating the contract.
To create the contract in-game, make a Private Item Exchange contract to Ferengi Commerce Consortium. The easiest way to do this is to right-click one of the selected items and choose Create Contract, which will automatically include all selected items.
On the first page of the contract setup, make sure the contract type is Item Exchange, the availability is set to Private, and the corporation name is entered correctly. On the second page, confirm that all intended items are selected.
On the third page, enter the Total Buy Value from the appraisal into the “I will receive” field. Then paste the appraisal permalink into the Description field. Be sure to set the contract expiration to at least one week before moving forward.
Before finishing the contract, do one final review. Make sure:
• You used the Buy Price, not sell or split price
• The items are located at an approved drop-off station
• None of the items are restricted
• The total contract value is under 1 billion ISK
• The expiration is set for at least one week
Once everything checks out, finish the contract and submit it.
Processing times
Submitted contracts are reviewed by assigned corporation members. If there is an issue, the contract will be rejected and the member will be contacted through in-game mail with instructions on how to fix it.
Most lower-value contracts are accepted within 24 hours, while standard processing time is typically 3 to 7 days. Larger contracts may take longer.
Why use the buyback program?
The biggest advantage is convenience. Members do not need to transport goods to market, manage sell orders, or compete with other sellers. This is especially helpful for newer players and alpha characters, who may not want to invest skill points into market skills just to reduce taxes and fees.
The program also benefits the corporation as a whole. Profits from buyback are used to support corporate programs and infrastructure, including station upkeep, office rentals, fuel, manufacturing costs, and discounts on doctrine ships. It also helps fund rewards, bonuses, and medals for members who contribute to defense fleets, wars, and other corporation activities.
Final thoughts
The Star Fleet Buyback Program is built to make life easier for members. It removes a lot of the friction involved in selling items, gives players a reliable way to convert goods into ISK, and helps strengthen the corporation at the same time. As long as contracts follow the pricing rules, stay within the limit, and only include approved items from approved locations, the process is straightforward and efficient.
